What Will You Explore in the Florida Keys?

When you plan to spend your holiday in the Florida Keys, there are just a few things to consider. First, you may want to bear in mind the hurricane season. Next, you'll want to choose the right place to stay.

When it comes to finding a place to stay, there's little reason to debate between hotels based on other travelers' reviews: instead, you'll want to look at Florida villas scattered throughout the Florida Keys. These homes away from home will provide your family with a home base, a place to regroup, a place to relax, unwind and enjoy your holiday. Many are Florida villas with pools, allowing you to relax by your own private pool.

Once you've chosen from the many Florida homes to rent, your next may prove more challenging: deciding what you will do during your holiday.

Visit the famous Duval Street, explore the shops and have a drink at one of the many friendly bars, or watch the sun go down from historic Mallory Square where locals and tourists alike gather nightly to watch the amazing sunsets.

Within the Florida Keys, you'll find a wide variety of cultural experiences to fill your time. You'll find a number of opportunities to watch a dramatic performance at one of many theatres in the area. You'll find artists' galleries as well as studios where you can watch as local artists perfect their craft, dance events from ballet to modern and jazz styles, live music performances from up and coming singer songwriters along with more established musicians, readings of literature and more.

If you would prefer to spend time away from your Florida holiday rental in the great outdoors, you will find that there are a variety of options available to you. Just a few miles offshore, you'll find North America's only living coral barrier reef. Snorkeling and diving near the reef will provide you ample opportunity to see a number of species of fish whether you head out on your own or with any of the area's snorkeling and diving tour companies.

Take a trip to Key Largo and visit Dolphin Cove, where you can swim with the dolphins in their natural lagoon. Or visit John Pennekamp State Park, Americas first undersea park, where you can take glass bottom boat tours, snorkeling tours, go scuba diving, rent a canoe or kayak or simply relax on the beaches.

Those who would rather catch fish than swim with them will find that the Keys provide an excellent day of angling. A chartered tour will allow you a chance to catch a wide variety of fish - after all there are over 200 species native to the area of the Florida Keys.

Others will find that, when they aren't enjoying the comfort of the Florida holiday rentals and Gulf Coast rentals , they are able to explore the coast of the Keys by kayak, tour the area to sight native species of birds, and visit such renowned areas as The Everglades National Park. Others will choose to participate in cycling tours, sample local cuisine or spend an afternoon shopping in one of the many smaller or larger towns of the Florida Keys.

Of course no holiday spent in the Florida Keys would be complete without time spent unwinding on the area's sandy beaches, enjoying temperate waters and combing the sand for shells and other small souvenirs - even though, once you've visited the Florida Keys, you aren't likely to forget the experience. Nor are you likely to forget the time you've spent relaxing in your Florida villa rental, experiencing all of the comforts of home - as well as an added number of luxuries that you wish you could call your own.
