Far more than an ordinary visitors' experience, a day spent at the space center is an opportunity to explore a collective history - science, technology and, of course, space exploration.

During the course of a day's visit - just a short drive from your Orlando Villa Rental - you will have the chance to explore exhibits that contain items sent into space as well as an opportunity to have a more hands-on experience.

The close up tours of the Kennedy Space Center complex will take you and your family not only through the complex, but also as close as possible to NASA's shuttle launch pad. You'll have the opportunity to visit the International Space Station Center, the Launch Complex Observation Gantry - where you can learn what it takes to launch a space craft, from vehicle assembly, to the countdown, to the eventual landing - and to the Apollo/Saturn V Center.

At the Apollo/Saturn V Center, you'll be able to get up close to a Saturn V rocket - quarters far more cramped than you'll find in any of the luxurious Orlando Villas available to rent. You'll have the chance to see all that went into sending a man into orbit and enabling him to walk on the moon.

Through exhibits and films, you'll have the opportunity to see how much effort - planning, construction, design and timing - goes into a space launch. Through flight simulators and a Family Astronaut Training Experience (ATX), your family will have the chance to meet an astronaut, to train for a mission, and to experience the thrill of a launch from mission control or a simulated shuttle.

Depending upon the time that you've chosen for your Florida vacation, you may be able to experience more than just a simulated launch, you may find that you have the opportunity to actually witness a space launch. Simply check the Kennedy Space Center launch schedule to determine when rocket, satellite and shuttle launches are anticipated; the experience is out of this world.
